IB CANDIDATE

International Baccalaureate

International Talent Academy is a candidate school for authorization for the Primary Years Programme (PYP). We are striving to become an IB World School, providing primary students with quality and modern international education.

IB World Schools share a common philosophy — a commitment to high-quality, challenging educational programmes that we believe are important for student development.

Only schools authorized by the IB can offer one or more of the programmes: Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP) or Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

About the IB PYP Programme

Primary Years Programme (PYP) is the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum designed for students aged 3–11. It aims to develop curiosity, independence and inquiry skills in primary school students.

PYP supports a holistic approach to learning, helping children make connections between different subjects and the real world. The programme takes into account each child's individual characteristics, allowing them to follow an individual development track to fully realise their potential.

PYP teaching is based on 6 subject groups:

  • Languages Languages
  • Mathematics Mathematics

PYP

Student Agency

In the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), agency is the capacity of students to take responsibility for their learning, express their views, make informed choices and take action. This approach recognises that children are not passive recipients of knowledge but active participants in their own learning.

Agency is central to the PYP and defines how students engage in learning, make decisions and take responsibility for their actions.

Key aspects of agency in the PYP

Voice

Students express their ideas, opinions and questions, contributing to the learning process.

Action

They apply what they have learned in real life, initiating change in their environment and community.
